The trips:
TABOO travels from the US Virgin Islands to Trinidad, both summer and winter. She will pick you up anywhere along that route.

Your Caribbean sailing vacation can be as relaxing or as active as you would like it to be, because they will tailor your trip to your wants and desires.

Land-based visits are a highlight of any sailing vacation with any itinerary you might choose. From the quaint villages of Grenada to the sandy white beaches and azure blue seas of the British Virgin Islands, there is plenty to do... or not do. If you choose to simply relax and do nothing, there's no place better!

Shore excursions are available almost any time and most include shopping opportunities, sandy white beaches for swimming or water toys, as well as bars and restaurants.

On TABOO's top deck there's plenty of space to soak up the Caribbean sun or take a nap in one of the hammocks or relax on the spacious, quiet cockpit.

There are two Ocean Kayaks carried onboard TABOO that you can use anytime she is not sailing. They are easy to use, virtually indestructible, and offer a great way to explore the area around the anchorages. The 60 hp 15' dinghy is powerful enough to pull a skier and they have slalom and double skis, and a tube on board.

At every anchorage you'll find fantastic snorkeling right off the back of TABOO. Mask, fins and snorkel are provide. For the more adventurous, scuba diving is available to certified divers. They have 6 tanks, weights and 2 compressors onboard. It is recommended you bring your own dive equipment or let them know in advance if you'll need to rent gear from one of the land-based operators. If you've never tried scuba diving and would like to, ask about a "Discover Scuba" course, which can be arranged upon advanced request. TABOO supplies tanks, weights and air fills.

Of course you may be coming aboard TABOO just for the sailing! You've picked the right boat! Whether you are a seasoned mariner or beginner spectator, you'll appreciate TABOO’s speed and grace. Except at anchor, you'll seldom see TABOO with her sails furled. If you would like to grab a line and help out, you're welcome to do so, or just sit back and enjoy the ride. TABOO is a sailboat; a real sailboat!

Accommodation:
You'll find the accommodations aboard TABOO spacious and comfortable. There is plenty of room to gather with your friends and there are even more places where you can spend quiet time alone to read a book or watch the latest movie or concert on DVD.

Five queen sized roomy staterooms – each have their own shower and toilet. Each stateroom is fitted with a TV/DVD, telephone, intercom, FM radio & CD player, iPod base, hair dryers, fans, A/C and a queen sized double berth. TABOO is fully air conditioned. On the top deck you can lounge in the sun or settle in the shade.

The crew – owners David and Miranda Hartstone:

David, with 20 years in the Rock'n'Roll industry in New York and London, has an ear for any conversation, and can tell a few tales himself. With his many Atlantic crossings, and sailing trips all around New Zealand, England, and the Channel Islands, not to mention 20 years sailing the Caribbean, you are assured total safety. With David at the helm you can relax. His only qualification.....experience!

Miranda has a few tricks up her sleeves as well. Her past experience in designing menus and buying food for large Vancouver Hotels may help to explain why 90% of the charter guests return again and again!..quality in a tasty cuisine. She always has a smile on her face and has a vast experience in sailing. Miranda studies your food information sheet, and every detail is covered. The crew (including David & Miranda) are all non-smokers and are onboard to help you in every aspect of your sailing vacation aboard TABOO. They are very friendly and will offer activities such as skiing, tubing, scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming, and hiking. As you sail past different islands, they will point out sites of interest.

The great thing about chartering an "owner operated" yacht is that great service and a fantastic time on your vacation is assured. The Crew wants you to return and sail on TABOO again, and recommend TABOO to your friends.

Your safety is a primary concern of the crew, who are very experienced sailors on large Maxi's like TABOO. Under sail, you will see them handle all the deck equipment with the greatest of ease, while still being very sensitive to your needs...and will welcome any offers of sailing participation from you.

They never say "NO".

This season they have Emily Peterson from Vancouver. Emily is a smiling, happy 20 year old and is an avid sailor and scuba diver/swimmer/water skier. She is a wonderful addition to the crew family and she has been a real plus and great crew while on and off charter.

All the guests have really enjoyed both Travers and Emily as they are pampered by both everyday, and made to feel welcome, relaxed and enjoy their sailing vacation aboard TABOO, while in the hands of professional, well trained and seasoned crew.
